“The life of the professional writer – like that of any freelance, whether she be a plumber or a podiatrist – is predicated on willpower. Without it there simply wouldn’t be any remuneration, period.” – Will Self
They say that you have to start your introduction with something that will grab your viewers' attention. Is that catchy enough? hehe.. Kidding aside, here's how I started to become a freelancer.
Most of my working life, I have spent hours and hours of commuting. I have to wake up early to go to work and go home late because of the traffic.I loved my job but commuting? Ugh! Good thing is I have weekends off so I still got to spend time with family and friends.
After my last company stopped operation because they wanted to transfer our office, I got stuck at home so I decided to find jobs online. I started to do microjobs and transcribing from different online site. That's where I started to think of being a freelancer. I can just work from home and don't need to deal with the traffic anymore. I thought, "Why not use my previous experience as an administrative assistant and find a job with better pay? But like in real word, getting a job online is not that simple.
Then a friend of mine introduced and helped me enroll to Filipino Virtual Assistance. It's an online training course where you can get to learn how to get on the freelancing wagon. Everything that you need to prepare for freelancing. The owner/coach Grace is very hands-on starting from day one. The lessons are easy to follow even if you're just a newbie. After you're done with the course, you get to receive a certificate which you can use to promote yourself when applying for a job. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, the FVA group. Or should I say the FVA Family. It's like a support group where freelancers get to help other freelancers. Pretty cool, right?
To know more about Filipino Virtual Assistance and want to become part of the family, you can visit here. To end this, i want to say, "If there's a will, FVA will help you find the way."
That's all folks!
